Banner Farms – Pro & Cons

Banner farms is a term that marketers and promoters use, when a page or site just shows banners with no content at all. There are ways to promote programs and others with banners, which I will explain the benefits and the disadvantages of using banner farms to promote.

Benefits

You can promote all your sites, that you have joined, on one page so that your audience can view them. People use banners to get attention and hopefully referrals, but there are lots of sizes available, therefore it is a good option to try different sizes to find out which one is the best to use for promotion.

You can set the layout of your banner farm to be in columns or if you use the square banners to have them close together, for which in my opinion promoting in columns with banners (468×80) is the best for the eyes and does not clotter the page. The layout can have a bit of text underneath, captions, just to tell your audience the name of the site, however banner farms will not tell you the name as it will show on the banner normally.

They are supposed to be eye catching and simple enough to click on, here is an example of a banner farm: My Banner Farm. However, this example is a splash page and not on a blog post, which is bad and will explain later. My Banner Farm shows the programs I have joined to earn Crypto and Crypto related topics, now on to the disadvantages.

Cons

I wouldn’t suggest to use banner farms on a blog post because if you want to monetise your blog, it will require content and showing banners only on a post will not get you much traffice and ads. Banner Farms can also cause problems for readers, as most use ad-blocker which makes your banners not show up correctly, therefore when putting banners on a blog you will have to tell your audience to not block ads.

Sometimes it can be a bit bland just to view banners on a page, as without content they will not stand out as people will want information first before clicking on your banners. Banners can be made for animation or sound effect banners, which might get on the audiences nerves if they have to keep on listening to it.

Conclusion

Overall banner farms are useful when used correctly, therefore it is better to get someone elses opinion before using banner farms. Also it is very vital not to use banner farms on your blog post as you will not get a lot of clicks and referrals for your programs. Hope you have enjoyed the article and I will be posting stuff later, as my motivation has been a bit lacking on most days, but I will be updating you all with site information and if any changes have been made.
